Anything sexier than the word ”procedure”? Yes, I believe so.
The word ”procedure” probably ranks amongst the lowest rated words when it comes to catching people’s attention:
”Buy 3 procedures, get the cheapest one for free”, ”Crazy procedure fest - low prices, get yours before it’s too late” or ”Homemade procedures – like grandma made them” - a marketing manager would probably have nightmares if she should try to sell this concept.
Summer has closed in on us, even though not very summer like unless you have escaped to more southern latitudes.
It has not been a quiet year so far in our industry, disruption (not to be mistaken for distortion) has come on everybody's lips, as well as resilience, 3D, automation. So we can - after returning fully energised from the vacation - look forward to an interesting fall.
Situationen i dag – og i morgen
Meget tyder på at vi er hastigt på vej ind i en situation hvor vi har en alvorlig mangel på kvalificeret arbejdskraft i Danmark. For visse fag er arbejdsløsheden meget lille – for vores branche kan vi bare tage et velkendt eksempel, nemlig maskinmestrene med en arbejdsløshed der i princippet ikke findes. Er det godt eller skidt?
Recent times has brought new words to our present day orgnizational vocabulary. To mention a few CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility; HSSQE (comes in many abbrevations), Health Security Safety Quality Environment; Risk Management, Human Resources Management (and Development),… The list is long.
But now I tell you it’s time to open up your dictionary and add a new one: Resilience [ri’zilliens(i)] - stemming from the times when the Romans ruled a large part of the known world.
There is nothing like being inspired by other industries. For years the shipping industry has looked at the airline industry when it comes to bridge resource management and leadership. And we have looked at the oil and gas industry when it comes to safety. Yes they are in some ways far ahead of us but also operating under very different conditions - so why bother look outside our own comfort zone?
