Cummins has a long and proud history in the development and innovation of diesel engine technology. It all began in 1919 with a young self-taught mechanical inventor, Clessie Lyle Cummins and his beliefs in the theory of diesel engine technology invented by Rudolph Diesel in the 1890s.
For more than three-quaters of a century, Cummins has striven to provide solutions in this field believing in these six core values:
Strive to do what is right and to do what we say we will do.
Apply the creative ingenuity necessary to make us better, faster, first.
Delivering Superior Results
Exceed expectations, consistently.
Serve and improve the communities in which we live.
Embrace the diverse perspectives of all people and honor with both dignity and respect.
Seek a world view and act without boundaries.
