Skuld is a world leading marine insurance provider with a strong financial position and an 'A' rating with Standard & Poor's. We cater to the needs of shipowners, the offshore and energy sector, charterers and traders, ports and terminals, cargo and the superyacht community.
Skuld was established in 1897 as a P&I club for Scandinavian shipowners. Since then, we have grown into a diversified marine insurer and now offer bespoke covers through Skuld P&I and Skuld 1897, a syndicate at Lloyd's.
With headquarters in Oslo and a worldwide office network of around 250 highly skilled employees, we provide our members and clients with service and competence they can rely on, 24 hours a day.
Insurance solutions for all aspects of the industry
Our focus is to provide a full set of marine covers and first class security for our members and clients. The synergies between Skuld entities ensure innovative insurance solutions, as shown by arranging special covers for our members and clients. Our network of local offices creates close contact and ensures efficient, quick and reliable service, with access to Skuld’s dedicated and professional legal, claims and technical experts.
The P&I club, Assuranceforeningen Skuld (Gjensidig), has been the basis for further development of Skuld and this is also where the majority of staff is employed. This ensures a top quality service both to the P&I members and clients as well as to the clients of Skuld 1897. Skuld P&I offers Mutual P&I, Commercial fixed P&I, Skuld Yachts - a dedicated liability cover for super yatchs, Charterers Liability and more.
Skuld Offshore is specialised in offshore and energy liability and hull insurance products. The liability covers are placed in Skuld P&I and the hull and property covers are placed with Skuld 1897.
Skuld Hull is a dedicated H&M (Hull and Machinery) unit. Based in Oslo, Skuld Hull offers the same service-based approach to underwriting and claims handling that has always been the hallmark of Skuld P&I to shipowners worldwide.
Skuld 1897, our syndicate at Lloyd’s, started operations in 2011 and writes marine, energy, cargo and liability insurance. Through Skuld P&I, there is direct access to the syndicate and Skuld P&I will also provide claims service to Skuld 1897. Lloyd’s has an A+ rating with Standard and Poor’s.
Skuld Services is a service unit to Skuld 1897, providing access to Lloyd’s for non-Lloyd’s brokers. A local broker can thereby access Skuld 1897 directly.
Asta is a management agent managing syndicates at Lloyd’s where Skuld P&I is part owner.
