Title: COO, Co-founder and Chairman of the board
For how long have you been working in the company?
I have been working here since 2010
And for how long have you been working in the maritime industry?
When I started working for Daspos was my debut in the maritime industry, thus I have been working in the industry since 2010 as well.
Tell us your area of responsibility – your daily job?
I manage all the back office and some of the sales and I also deal with strategies and other things.
What is the best thing about working in the Blue Denmark/the maritime industry?
People who work in the industry are often people who carry a lot of good experiences with them as they have great international experience and have been able to see several parts of the world. I think this is one of the best things about working in the industry. Also, it’s an industry with a huge network. It’s a quite exciting industry.
What’s your passion?
I’m a passionated sailor and a golfer as well. Because of my busy schedule at work which involves traveling, I try to find time for my hobby in between which is also a good thing about my job.
Tell us briefly about your career path?
Before joining the maritime industry, I worked with transportation. I had finished my university degree in Foreign Trade in 1986 and started working for a very big company in Denmark for 10 years. And for another 10 years, I worked at Danisco which was based in Copenhagen. Daspos started as a project based on an idea, then my partner (Torben Jørgensen) invented the technology of the product and I invented the business part of it.
If you were to not live in Denmark, where would you live and why?
I’ve never thought about that, but I can say from a business point of view, that I would probably live in the U.S as our biggest customers are located in Florida. But then again, I would like to say it would have to be a European country, basically because of the culture. However, Denmark will always be my number one choice of residence.
What could you give a 40-minute presentation about with absolutely no preparation?
I think it would be about how to be a European and how to be a Dane, about golf, all about our customers and all about our product (LAS-10). It could also be about all the challenges we had from being just an idea until we got this idea developed into some real stuff - that's a very exciting story.
