The first Smart Maritime Network (SMN) Conference,taking place in Athens on May 9 2019, will provide a platform to promote the benefits of enhanced integration and data sharing among stakeholders within the maritime and transport logistics sectors; informing and educating on technological developments and innovations while providing wider opportunities for relationship building, business development and knowledge sharing.
The core aim of the conference is raise issues relating tointeroperability, standardisation and harmonisationin the maritime and the wider transport infrastructure.
Topics to be covered within the various sessions of the day include:
Addressing the current state of digitalisation in maritime
Harmonisation and standardisation of shipping technology systems
Harnessing Industry 4.0 to create value for shipping companies
Regulatory discussion – how is the maritime regulatory environment helping or hindering the process of innovation and technology adoption?
Beyond maritime – how to promote betterintegration between maritime, the logistics chain and other stakeholders in cargo transportation? Are there lessons from other sectors?
Throughout the day plenary sessions, panel discussions, roundtables and some exciting networking opportunities will provide all participants with the chance to learn how to better work with each other to explore common goals and platforms.
