Port of Aarhus

The port of Aarhus is an active trade area with approx. 150 companies, creating the basis for about 10,000 jobs.

The port of Aarhus is Denmark’s largest container port, with a market share of approx. 60 per cent, and also Denmark’s largest public bulk port. This implies that a very large part of the consumer goods are imported to Denmark via the port of Aarhus. Also, a significant part of the Danish export is shipped via the fine-meshed network of shipping routes to all parts of the world.

In addition, the port of Aarhus is an important ferry port, serving around 800,000 cars and around 2 million passengers on an annual basis. The company Port of Aarhus has recently initiated the construction of a new office centre in five levels of approx. 13,000 sq m, situated at the container terminal area.

ABCON A/S

ABCON AS develops and produces Stop Leak additives for the merchant fleet around the world. They have two categories of additives for lube oil systems in stern tubes, thrusters, gearboxes or hydraulic systems. 

One is the popular Stop Leak additives. They stop leaks and keep the vessel sailing until next planned dry dock.

The second category is the +series which are the maintenance products that reduce wear and tear and reduce the risk of having leaks.

All the products are available in mineral oil and in bio version which ensures that the vessel continues to comply with the 2013 EPA VGP requirements as environmentally acceptable. The products can be shipped by air as they are non-dangerous goods.

Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engineering

The Aarhus School of Marine and Technical Engeneering, AAMS, has been a part of Aarhus life for 115 years. AAMS is the largest Marine Engineering School in Denmark with approx. 700 students following the 3-year Bachelor Programme. The school is situated in the middle of Aarhus within easy reach of other educational institutions and industry partners. 

The Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering is polytechnic. This means that it covers areas ranging from Engine Studies and Electro Technology to Automation Studies. Another focus area is Management Studies. The basic subjects include Mathematics, English and Methodology.

In his/her proffessional life the AAMS graduate is often in charge of establishing, initiating and coordinating a profitable collaboration between diverse and often highly specialized proffessional groups - both at sea and on land. The modern Marine and Technical Engineer is thus a technical manager who is able to initiate and implement change in technical and technological organizations.

University of Aalborg

AAU indtager en særlig gunstig position i forhold til at arbejde med udfordringer på tværs af fagligheder, idet vi har en stærk og lang tradition for tværfaglig forskning af særdels høj kvalitet og et tilsvarende stærkt samarbejde med erhvervslivet. Forskningsmæssigt spænder universitets projekter fra mindre samarbejdsprojekter med bl.a. jyske havne, til større forretningsmæssige og teknologise projekter med globale rederier, udstyrs- og softwareleverandører samt myndigheder inden for fiskeri og offshore industrien.

Port of Aalborg A/S

Denmark's Intelligent Port
Port of Aalborg - "Denmark's Intelligent port" with logistics and cooperation as the two basic services. In close collaboration with, among others, Aalborg University a mindset and a way of working has been developed where the latest knowledge in the field of logistics products and - processes are the basis for value creation. Documented environmental awareness is one of the many skills that are part of the ongoing business to the benefit of the port's customers and tenants.

Port of Aalborg's main activities are concentrated about 12 km outside of the city center. Relocated in 1973 to what today is called "Denmark's best-planned port area",  when the Royal Greenland Trading Company moved its transport department to Aalborg. Until 2022, Aalborg is the base port for supplies to and from Greenland. The port is integrated with Nordic Transport Center as a comprehensive service center for goods transported on ship, truck and rail. There are just 5 kilometers the E45highway, and the whole area is approved for operation with road trains (25 m long trucks).

Port of Aalborg A/S owns more than 420 hectares of commercial area with quays, roads etc. Nearly 100 companies have already established themselves in the vicinity. From the project quay are shipped offshore wind turbine foundations and trancision pieces from Bladt Industries A/S and turbine blades from Siemens Wind Power. Weber Nordic has established its central warehouse in the port's proximity and getsits entire supply of barbeques through the feeder container route Rotterdam - Aalborg.

Port of Aabenraa

Aabenraa Port is a market-orientated port company which targets its products on customers' needs. Facilities, traffic communications and services are being developed and improved so that the port is always abreast of the customers' needs – also in the future.

Aabenraa Port is the efficient deep-water port by the Baltic, close to the European motorway network. It is a port of shipment and disembarkation for the entire Baltic area and may form part of attractive transport concepts in combination with land transport to and from the rest of Europe. Aabenraa Port can offer all the facilities which hallmark an efficient industrial port and make it supreme as the basis for advantageous transport and logistics solutions in North Europe and the Baltic area.

The navigation conditions in Aabenraa Port are excellent. The depths of water vary between 4 and 11 metres, and vessels up to a length of 250 metres may call at the port. Aabenraa Port has modern Ro-Ro facilities and the quays extend for more than 2 km altogether.
There are tanker piers with terminals for liquid goods. Aabenraa Port disposes over efficient handling equipment and three mobile harbour cranes, which can handle loads with a dead weight of up to 240 tonnes in combined lifts.
